The Santa Monica Pier

The non-profit that manages the Santa Monica Pier in California approached the studio to design a poster to promote their summer season - capturing the SoCal beach lifestyle and some of the iconic images that the Santa Monica Pier is renowned for. The poster was displayed at the Twilight Concerts that run on the Pier, and can be spotted in the area surrounding this historic landmark. Si's style of illustration lends itself well to an abstract treatment, but the client wanted the pier and some of the landmarks to be easily recognisable. The end result is a heavily stylized interpretation of a california sunset over the pier's architectural landmarks.
